Features of PEART BBQs / Caribbean Cookers

Every Peart BBQ or Caribbean Cooker is hand made to order using the finest stainless steel materials. All of the production models in the range are made to the same exacting standards and share broadly the same features. The only real difference between each model is the size of the cooking area and the weight of the stainless steel used in construction, and of course some models have lids, others don't. Most of the features are shared across the product range and details appear below, however for specific details of each model see the relevant product page or view the model comparison chart.

Manufactured using 100% Stainless Steel
Except for the wheels and the hand turned hardwood handles, all the other components that go to make both the Peart BBQs and Caribbean Cookers are 100% Stainless Steel.

Each barbecue is hand made to order and designed and manufactured to be robust enough to use in a commercial or domestic environment.

All the BBQs in the range can be left outside all the year round, even without a cover and they will survive for years. Long after the DIY shop BBQ has died a death the Peart BBQ is still going strong, cooking better than ever year after year.

10mm interlocking cooking grills*
With many domestic and even some commercial barbecues the grill size is often inadequate. The grills on a BBQ are one of the most important aspects of the cooker and play a large part in determining the success or failure of a cooking session.

During the development of Peart BBQs and Caribbean Cookers, some of the best chefs in the world provided feedback and comments into what makes a good barbecue. Thicker grills were high on the agenda, so we made our grills thick.

Think grills allow the heat to be retained in the metal, so when you cook, not only do you get that lovely seared line on the meat or fish but the heat of the grill remains constant allowing you to cook quickly, with a constant temperature, over a long period of time. This is what professional chefs are used to and what they demand of a BBQ.

With many barbecues as soon as you put a piece of cold meat on the grill the heat is instantly diminished, meaning that the tasty juices in the meat do not get sealed in, it usually takes so long to cook the meat as a result of this loss in temperature that it also dries out the meat.

Not only this, if you are lucky enough to manage to cook a few decent sized steaks then what about cooking some more - forget it, the heat will be gone!

With a Peart BBQ this does not happen, providing the charcoal is good and the BBQ has been prepared properly then the heat will be maintained and it will be possible to cook joint, after joint, after joint.

Adjustable Grill Height*
There are many adjustable features in all models, all designed to give you as much control over the heat as possible.

By raising or lowering the grills, without having to remove them you can effectively increase or decrease the heat at will. Air vents on the ash pan* allow control of air flowing to the charcoal, therefore adjusting the heat.

Adjustable Chimney
Another feature which allows a degree of control over the heat. By adjusting the chimney* you increase or reduce the flow of air running through the barbecue. This means you can make the charcoals burn red or die down a little during cooking according to your requirement.

It's a subtle adjustment but all the chefs that have used a Peart BBQ agree that it's one of the best features that simply is not found on other makes.

Adjustable Air Vent
Yet another way to control the flow of air through the barbecue. The air vent is at the opposite end to the chimney and allows you to increase or decrease the air flow. With subtle changes to the air vent and chimney you will be surprised at how much control over the heat this gives you.*

* Chimney and ash pan not available on all models

Removable Ash Pan
The ash pan on most of the models in the range is completely removable*.

With a sturdy hard wood handle the ash pan can be removed for easy cleaning or pull and pushed to help move charcoal. At one end of the ash pan an adjustable flap acts as a vent t control air flow through the cooker and therefore control the heat.

* Ash pan not on all models.

Hand Turned Hardwood Handles
All the handles on a Peart BBQs and Caribbean Cookers are hand turned hardwood.

Warm to the touch and sturdy enough to last for years. This is about the only part of a the BBQ that you may need to replace every 10 years or so.

Removable Stand
The top of the BBQ can be easily removed from its stand by means of two of these pull out stainless steel rods, making it possible if necessary to transport anywhere.*

BBQ Stand Wheels
Most of the models come complete with a stand featuring chunky and robust rubber wheels for easy maneuverability*.
